Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Police say they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then found many other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.
"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities said they were working "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.
An important official stated the attack made him speechless and required to be addressed promptly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the murder of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
